Counseling is a second career for me.  After earning a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from Miami University, I spent two decades working for Fortune 500 companies in sales and market research.  During that time I also served the community by leading divorce recovery support groups and women’s groups.  My deep value for counseling led me back to school to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.  I am a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) which means I have been trained to use the APSATS Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model to help those dealing with Betrayal Trauma. I have also completed training in the Early Recovery Couples Empathy Model (ERCEM) and Level one of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy which helps me work with couples.  Finally, I have training as a life coach, am a certified SYMBIS facilitator (pre-marriage/marriage mentor), and a Brainspotting practitioner. Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing emotional/body pain, trauma, and a variety of other challenging symptoms. 

 

I deeply believe in everyone’s ability to change and grow, even after facing difficult life challenges. My top priority is to be an empathetic listener and to provide a safe space for my clients. I will use strategies you are comfortable with. I will leverage your strengths. I will teach practical skills you can use on your own. All of this is done in a caring, patient, and encouraging environment.
